MGO-PAC Probe Model Selection Guide

Select the configuration that matches your installation requirements. All models are available in Type K, J, T, E, or N. Custom immersion lengths, sheath ODs, and process connections can be manufactured from customer drawings.

Technical Specifications

Junction Style Selection

  • Grounded junction: fastest response, but not electrically isolated.
  • Ungrounded junction: electrically isolated from the sheath.
  • Exposed junction: ultra-fast response for gas or flow measurement only.

MgO Mineral Insulation

High-purity magnesium oxide insulation maintains dielectric strength at operating temperature, compacts tightly during swaging, and allows the sheath to be bent without cracking the insulation layer.

Swaged Sheath Construction

MIMS cable is swaged to final OD during manufacture, cold-working the sheath and compressing the MgO fill to eliminate voids. The result is a rigid, vibration-resistant probe with no loose internal components.

Hermetic Tip Seal

A swaged closed-end tip or TIG-welded end cap provides a hermetic moisture barrier. This construction is critical for applications involving process fluid pressure, wash-down environments, or steam sterilization.

All Standard TC Types

Type K is used for general-purpose service up to 1260°C. Type J is used for reducing atmospheres. Type T is used for cryogenic and food service. Type N is used for high-temperature stability. Noble-metal Types R and S are available for furnace calibration work.

ASTM E230 Lot-Certified Wire

All thermocouple wire is purchased to ASTM E230 tolerances with lot-test certifications. Special limits of error (SLE) — approximately half of standard tolerances — are available on Type K, J, T, E, and N for tighter process control.

AS9100D Documentation

A certificate of conformance is standard on all orders. Material certifications, calibration certificates, and First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102) are available for aerospace and defense programs. No minimum order quantity is required.
