Product Overview

Miniature Thermocouple Sensors — Needle Probe · Fine-Wire · Small OD MIMS

Miniature thermocouple sensors for tight spaces, fine-wire applications, and small-OD probe requirements.

Miniature Thermocouple Package Fit

Miniature thermocouples are specified around probe diameter, access constraints, response time, and junction protection for small fixtures, tight passages, and low-mass measurement points.

Miniature thermocouple probe with needle-style stainless tip, transition sleeve, and fine-gauge lead wire

Needle / Pointed Probe Style

Use this compact thermocouple geometry for tight-clearance measurement, thin materials, and fast localized sensing.

Miniature Sensor Configurations

Fine-Wire Bare Thermocouple

Bare thermocouple wire, typically 36–44 AWG, uses a twisted or welded junction with no sheath for the smallest possible thermal mass. It is used for gas temperature measurement in small passages, biological tissue in animal studies, and point-contact surface measurement where sheath OD must be minimized to avoid disturbing the measured object.

Hypodermic-Tube MIMS Probe

An MgO-insulated thermocouple in a hypodermic-gauge stainless steel sheath — 0.020" (0.5 mm) to 0.062" (1.6 mm) OD — can be bent to complex curves without cracking the insulation. It is used for injection mold hot-runner mapping, circuit board temperature profiling, and tight-clearance engine component measurement.

Needle-Tip MIMS Thermocouple

Small-OD needle-tip thermocouple construction for fast point measurement where the sensor must reach into narrow passages, thin materials, or compact fixtures. Typically built in Type K or Type T with grounded or ungrounded junction selection based on response time and electrical noise requirements.
