Tube-Skin Weld-Pad Thermocouples
Tube-skin and weld-pad thermocouples for furnace tubing, heater surfaces, and process equipment skin temperature monitoring.
Product Overview
Tube-Skin Weld-Pad Thermocouples
Tube-skin and weld-pad thermocouples for furnace tubing, heater surfaces, and process equipment skin temperature monitoring.
Tube-Skin Thermocouple Attachment Styles
Tube-skin assemblies are selected by attachment geometry, tube contact, lead protection, and heater environment so the sensor survives elevated-temperature surface service.
Tubing Attachment Style
Tube-contact format for fired heaters and process coils where direct skin measurement is required.
Protected Lead Exit Style
Weld-pad build with armored lead protection for higher-abuse routing and service-friendly field handling.

Why Tube-Skin Temperature Matters
In fired heaters and reformer furnaces, tube metal temperature is the primary indicator of tube life. Exceeding the metallurgical limit of the tube alloy — even briefly — causes permanent creep damage. Tube-skin thermocouples provide the direct metal temperature measurement that fluid-immersion sensors cannot, enabling operators to manage heat flux and extend tube service life.
Redundant and Multi-Point Sensing
Tube-skin assemblies can be built with dual, duplex, or multipoint sensing when the heater, reformer, or coil monitoring plan needs redundant channels or more than one measurement point. For separate instrument channels, see duplex temperature sensor assemblies. For multiple sensing points along a process path, see multipoint thermocouples.
Installation Note
Tube-skin weld-pad assemblies are supplied for integration into the customer installation plan, with attachment style, pad geometry, sheath material, and lead protection selected around the heater or process coil environment.
