Product Overview

Multi-Point RTD Assemblies for Stable Temperature Mapping

Multi-point RTDs place several platinum sensing elements into one coordinated assembly for profiling, validation, and zone-to-zone comparison where stability and repeatability matter.

Multi-Point RTD Profile Design

These assemblies are specified around element count, element spacing, insertion depth, lead management, calibration points, and how the profile data will be used in the process or validation workflow.

Multi-point RTD assembly with long probe sheath, connection head, and multi-conductor cable bundle

Profile-Style Multi-Sensor Assembly

Use this bundled geometry when multiple RTD depths need coordinated profiling, validation mapping, or controlled measurement across several points.

RTD Profile Measurement Tradeoffs

RTD Multi-Point vs. TC Multi-Point

Accuracy at Depth

RTD: ±0.15°C

Thermocouple: ±1–2°C

Long-Term Stability

RTD drift is typically less than 0.1°C per year.

Cold-Junction Compensation

Not required for RTD assemblies.

Maximum Temperature

Thermocouples are generally preferred above 600°C.

Cost

RTD assemblies cost more, with the premium tied to higher accuracy and stability.

Cryogenic and Validation Build Notes

Cryogenic Multi-Point RTDs

For LNG tank stratification monitoring and cryogenic vessel temperature profiling, Thermometrics supplies multi-point RTD assemblies with individual Pt100 elements calibrated down to -200°C. NIST-traceable calibration at multiple cryogenic temperatures. 316SS sheath, PTFE-insulated leads rated for continuous cryogenic service.

Validation and Mapping Workflows

Multi-point RTDs are useful when the customer needs stable, repeatable temperature data across multiple depths or zones rather than a single measurement point.
