Surface-Mount RTD Contact Style
Surface-mount RTDs are selected when the measurement point is on a plate, housing, pipe, or other surface and process penetration is not practical. Attachment can be built around weld pads, clamps, ring lugs, magnets, Kapton tape, fiberglass tape, or other retention methods matched to the surface and temperature range.

Use this low-profile contact build for plates, housings, pipes, and other non-penetrating measurement points.
Surface RTD Configurations
Weld-Pad Surface RTD
A Pt100 element embedded in a flat metal weld pad for TIG welding to any metal surface. Provides a permanent, low-thermal-mass temperature measurement point with accuracy superior to an equivalent thermocouple installation. 316SS or Inconel 600 pad, MI cable with PTFE leads.
Magnetic Surface RTD
A spring-loaded Pt100 probe with integral permanent magnet for temporary or portable surface temperature measurement on ferromagnetic surfaces. Accurate, repeatable, and tool-free deployment for maintenance and commissioning applications. 3-wire, Class B, with 4-pin M12 connector.
Ring / Lug Surface RTD
A Pt100 element in a ring or lug-style mounting base for bolted or clamped attachment to pipe flanges, tube clamps, and structural surfaces. Available with standard ring bore sizes matching common pipe and conduit diameters. PTFE or MI cable lead wire.
Tape and Wrap-Attached Surface RTD
Kapton tape and fiberglass tape options are available where an adhesive or wrapped installation makes more sense than a welded pad, bolted lug, magnet, or clamp.
