Product Overview

Thermowell-Mounted RTD Assemblies — Separable & Spring-Loaded

Spring-loaded thermowell-mounted RTD assemblies for serviceable process installations and reliable thermal contact.

Thermowell-Mounted RTD Contact Design

Thermowell-mounted RTDs need reliable tip contact, spring compression, and serviceable removal so the sensor can be changed without opening the process.

Thermowell-mounted RTD assembly with spring-loaded insert, stainless thermowell, fitting, and connection head

Spring-Loaded RTD Assembly

Use this spring-loaded assembly when the sensing tip must stay seated against the bottom of the thermowell for repeatable thermal contact.

Thermowell RTD System Design

Separable Design Advantage

A thermowell protects the sensor from process flow, pressure, and corrosion. The separable RTD element slides into the thermowell bore and is held in contact at the closed end by the spring. When recalibration or replacement is required, the element is removed from the head — the thermowell (and the process seal) remains undisturbed. No process shutdown. No valve isolation. No permit-to-work for process entry.

Matching Element to Thermowell

  • Thermowell bore OD: match the element tip OD within ±0.005".
  • Spring force: select based on bore length and element weight.
  • Immersion length: the element sheath should meet or exceed the thermowell bore depth.
  • Dual element: available with measuring and backup elements in one sheath.
